UltraTech Cement hits 52-week high on Nifty inclusion, Lupin up 2%

NEW DELHI: UltraTech Cements Ltd surged over 1 per cent to hit its 52-week high of Rs 1,733.40 after the stock was included in the 50-share Nifty along with Lupin Ltd.

The National Stock Exchange replaced SAIL and Sterlite Industries with Lupin and UltraTech Cement in the benchmark 50-share. The MSCI changes will take effect from September 3 while Nifty changes will apply from September 28.

At 09:50 a.m., UltraTech Cement was trading 0.8 per cent higher at Rs 1,730. It has hit a high of Rs 1,733.40 and a low of Rs 1,710 today.

Lupin Ltd was trading 1.89 per cent higher at Rs 566.90. It has hit a low of Rs 563.05 and a high of Rs 570 today.

SAIL was trading 0.6 per cent lower at Rs 84.15. It has hit a low of Rs 83.35 and a high of Rs 84.50 today.

Sterlite Industries Ltd was trading 0.68 per cent lower at Rs 109. It has hit a low of Rs 108.05 and a high of Rs 109.40 today.

"Changes have been made in various other indices of NSE such as CNX Nifty Junior Index, CNX 100 Index, CNX 200 Index S&P CNX 500 Index, CNX Midcap Index, CNX Smallcap Index, Nifty Midcap 50 Index, CNX Commodities Index, CNX Consumption Index," PTI reported.

"Sectoral indices for infrastructure, IT, media, MNCs and pharma will also see some changes," the report added.
