Uflex jumps 5% as its arm bags US Patent

NEW DELHI: Shares of Uflex jumped over 5 per cent in early trade on Tuesday as FlexFilms, the global film manufacturing arm of Uflex, was granted US patent covering entire categories of formable films that include one or more BOPET layers used in Alu Alu blister packaging.

The patent was issued to Flex Films (USA) Inc on November 20, 2018, for a period of 20 years, lending a competitive advantage to the Films Business of the company over its opponents in cold formed pharmaceutical packaging industry. With the patent issuance, the company gets exclusive right of manufacturing & sale of this special BOPET film in US, Europe and India.

The scrip closed 4.52 per cent up at Rs 291.35, while the benchmark BSE Sensex closed down 0.29 per cent at 36,134.31.


The shares of Uflex opened at Rs 289.40 on BSE against its previous closing of Rs 278.75.
