NEW DELHI: The rout in US stocks finally came home to hit Dalal Street, and it looks like we will have to live with it in the days ahead.

So, every projection for the market in New Year has a cautious tone now, what with the general elections also adding a fair dose of uncertainty.

Yet, there is optimism that Nifty would head towards 13,000 kind of levels in the year ahead. Some analysts are projecting a major rebound in smallcaps and midcaps.

Projections for 2019:
1. Amisha Vora, Joint MD at Prabhudas Liladher, says midcaps will bounce back in the coming year and the market should see a good runup during Januray-March 2019.

Vora also expects the interest rate cycle to turn around in 2019, and says rate cuts are on the horizon.


2. Amar Ambani, who recently took over as Head of Research at YES Securities, is very bullish about 2019 and is projecting Nifty to touch the 13,000 mark.


3. Sandip Sabharwal shared his outlook for various asset classes and how he is looking at different sectors for 2019.
