Triveni Engineering has fixed July 22 (Wednesday) as the record date for the demerger of its power transmission business, effectively making today the last day for interested investors to buy shares of the company to be eligible for the demerger adjustment.

The company, which is associated with the production of sugar and ethanol along with engineering works, announced earlier this year that as part of its demerger of its power transmission business, every eligible shareholder get one share of Triveni Power Transmission for every three shares held in Triveni Engineering as on the record date.

Under SEBI's T+1 settlement cycle, investors must purchase a company's shares at least one trading day before the record date to ensure the shares are credited to their demat accounts in time, and they become eligible for the corporate action. Accordingly, today is the last opportunity for investors to buy Triveni Engineering shares so that they are credited to their accounts by Wednesday, making them eligible to receive shares of Triveni Power Transmission.
