Trent Q1 Update: Standalone revenue rises 19%, driven by Zudio expansion
Trent reported a 19% year-on-year (YoY) rise in standalone revenue for the June quarter, helped by continued expansion of its store network and growth in its fashion retail business. The Tata Group retailer said standalone revenue from operations, excluding GST, stood at Rs 5,666 crore in Q1FY27, compared with Rs 4,781 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue from sale of merchandise, excluding other operating income, also grew 19% during the quarter ended June 2026, the company said in an exchange filing.

The update suggests that Trent has continued to grow at a strong pace despite a high base and intense competition in India’s fashion retail market. The company did not provide profit numbers in the update. It said the revenue figures are subject to audit by its statutory auditors.

Trent’s store expansion remained led by Zudio, its value fashion format that has become the company’s main growth driver in recent years. As of June 30, 2026, Trent had a total portfolio of 1,312 stores. This included 301 Westside stores, 982 Zudio stores and 29 stores across other lifestyle concepts. The Zudio count includes seven stores in the UAE.

During the June quarter, the company added one Westside store and 19 Zudio stores on a net basis. The slower addition in Westside compared with Zudio shows where Trent is placing its larger expansion bet. Zudio targets value-conscious shoppers with fast-moving apparel and lifestyle products, while Westside operates at a relatively more premium positioning.

The 19% revenue growth also comes at a time when investors have been closely tracking whether Trent can sustain its high-growth trajectory. The company has been one of the strongest performers in India’s retail sector over the past few years, helped by the rapid rollout of Zudio and steady performance at Westside.

The latest update indicates that the company is still expanding its reach, though the pace of store additions will remain an important metric. Zudio’s network is now more than three times the size of Westside, underlining the scale of Trent’s value retail opportunity.
