Trending stocks: Voltas shares rise nearly 1%

NEW DELHI: Shares of Voltas Ltd. traded 0.84 per cent up in Friday's trade at 11:36AM (IST). Around 53,866 shares changed hands on the counter.

The scrip opened at Rs 486.6 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 493.15 and Rs 481.2, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of Voltas Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 740.5 and a 52-week low of Rs 428.0.

Total market cap of the Voltas Ltd. stood at Rs 16229.9 crore at the time of writing this report.


Voltas is slated to announce its financial results on Friday.

Key Financials
The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 1487.07 crore for the quarter ended 31-Dec-2019, up 5.09 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 1415.02 crore and up 0.22 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 1483.85 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 86.91 crore, up 7.4 per cent from the corresponding quarter last year.

Shareholding pattern
As of 31-Mar-2020, domestic institutional investors held 27.64 per cent stake in the company, while foreign institutional investors held 9.87 per cent and the promoters 30.3 per cent.


Valuation ratio
According to BSE data, the stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 32.58 and a price-to-book ratio of 3.92. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
