Trending stocks: Reliance Capital shares jump nearly 5%

NEW DELHI: Shares of Reliance Capital Ltd. traded 4.96 per cent up in Monday's trade at 10:51AM (IST). Around 609,794 shares changed hands on the counter.

The counter opened at Rs 9.52 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 9.52 and Rs 9.52, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of Reliance Capital Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 74.95 and a 52-week low of Rs 3.7.

Total market cap of the Reliance Capital Ltd. stood at Rs 240.58 crore at the time of writing this report.


The company will not be able to service its debt in a timely manner following downgrading of its bond programme by CARE Ratings, which triggered an accelerated repayment which otherwise was to take place in a phased manner over eight years, the company said.


Key Financials
The company reported consolidated net sales of Rs 3580.0 crore for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2020, down 22.02 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 4591.0 crore and down 33.92 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 5418.0 crore.

The net loss for latest quarter stood at Rs 2123.0 crore, down 6.52 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.

Shareholding pattern
As of 31-Mar-2020, domestic institutional investors held 0.01 per cent stake in the company, while foreign institutional investors held 0.24 per cent and the promoters 1.5 per cent.


Valuation ratio
According to BSE data, the stock traded at a P/E multiple of -0.22 and a price-to-book ratio of -0.14. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
