Trending stocks: Power Finance Corporation shares slip nearly 1%

NEW DELHI: Shares of Power Finance Corporation Ltd. traded 0.86 per cent down in Wednesday's trade at 10:25AM (IST). Around 134,870 shares changed hands on the counter.

The scrip opened at Rs 76.45 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 76.45 and Rs 74.2, respectively, in the session so far. Shares of the company of Power Finance Corporation Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 138.8 and a 52-week low of Rs 74.2.

Total market cap of the Power Finance Corporation Ltd. stood at Rs 19681.81 crore at the time of writing this report.


Power Finance Corporation said it entered into an agreement with Narmada Basin Projects Company Ltd (NBPCL), a wholly-owned company of government of Madhya Pradesh, to fund projects worth Rs 22,000 crore.


Key Financials
The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 15753.45 crore for the quarter ended 31-Dec-2019, up 1.98 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 15447.76 crore and up 12.48 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 14005.97 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 2597.24 crore, down 20.52 per cent from the corresponding quarter last year.

Shareholding pattern
As of 31-Mar-2020, domestic institutional investors held 13.83 per cent stake in the company, while foreign institutional investors held 18.92 per cent and the promoters 55.99 per cent.


Valuation ratio
According to BSE data, the stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 2.08 and a price-to-book ratio of 0.31. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
