Trending stocks: SBI Life Insurance shares rise nearly 1%

NEW DELHI: Shares of SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. traded 0.74 per cent up in Wednesday's trade at 10:36AM (IST). Around 33,910 shares changed hands on the counter.

The stock opened at Rs 761.1 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 777.95 and Rs 761.1, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 1030.0 and a 52-week low of Rs 520.0.

Total market cap of the SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. stood at Rs 77082.03 crore at the time of writing this report.


State Bank of India said it has sold 2.1 per cent stake of its subsidiary SBI Life Insurance Company through the offer for sale route to comply with shareholding norms.


Key Financials
The company reported consolidated net sales of Rs 920.92 crore for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2020, up 240.15 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 270.74 crore and up 104.16 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 451.07 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 530.67 crore, up 15.95 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.

Shareholding pattern
As of 31-Mar-2020, domestic institutional investors held 4.45 per cent stake in the company, while foreign institutional investors held 25.87 per cent and the promoters 57.6 per cent.


Valuation ratio
According to BSE data, the stock traded at a P/E multiple of 54.2 and a price-to-book ratio of 8.82. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
