Trending stocks: Grasim Industries shares rise over 1%

NEW DELHI: Shares of Grasim Industries Ltd. traded 1.33 per cent up in Thursday's trade at 11:05AM (IST). Around 12,634 shares changed hands on the counter.

The scrip opened at Rs 589.8 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 591.8 and Rs 580.0, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of Grasim Industries Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 949.85 and a 52-week low of Rs 380.0.

Total market cap of the Grasim Industries Ltd. stood at Rs 38839.74 crore at the time of writing this report.


Aditya Birla Group flagship firm Grasim Industries said it has raised Rs 500 crore through private placement of non-convertible debentures.


Key Financials
The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 19901.54 crore for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2020, up 3.63 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 19205.05 crore and up 5.07 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 20965.25 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 1505.87 crore, up 31.57 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.

Shareholding pattern
As of 31-Mar-2020, domestic institutional investors held 9.65 per cent stake in the company, while foreign institutional investors held 13.52 per cent and the promoters 36.61 per cent.


Valuation ratio
According to BSE data, the stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 8.79 and a price-to-book ratio of 0.43. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
