The scrip opened at Rs 184.0 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 186.5 and Rs 183.0, respectively, in the session so far. Shares of the company of Emami Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 384.0 and a 52-week low of Rs 140.85.

At a time when several deals are falling apart due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Emami Cement and the Nuvoco Vistas Corporation on Thursday said their Rs 5,500 crore acquisition pact is on track.

The company reported consolidated net sales of Rs 812.64 crore for the quarter ended 31-Dec-2019, up 23.12 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 660.05 crore and up 0.21 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 810.9 crore.

As of 31-Mar-2020, domestic institutional investors held 24.87 per cent stake in the firm, while foreign institutional investors held 7.0 per cent and the promoters 52.38 per cent.

According to BSE data, the stock traded at a P/E multiple of 25.19 and a price-to-book ratio of 4.08. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
