Top gainers and losers of Tuesday's session

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 27 settled in the green, while 22 in the red. One stock remained unchanged.

As many as 55 stocks hit fresh 52-week lows on the NSE, compared with 10 stocks that hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE on Tuesday.
NEW DELHI: Key equity indices Nifty50 and Sensex extended their losses for the third consecutive session on Tuesday, reeling under the ripple effect of Punjab National Bank fraud that was reported last week.

The Nifty50 index finally settled 18 points, or 0.17 per cent, down at 10,360, while the 30-shares Sensex closed 71 points, or 0.21 per cent, down at 33,704 on Tuesday.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 27 settled in the green, while 22 in the red. One stock remained unchanged.


Shares of Vedanta, Ambuja Cements, Coal India, Bharti Infratel, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, NTPC and Tata Consultancy Services stood among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.

However, Mahindra & Mahindra, Axis Bank, Aurobindo Pharma, Indiabulls Housing Finance, YES Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank remained among the top losers of the day.

Nifty Metal index remained the top gainer among the sectoral indices, followed by PSU bank, media and IT indices.
