Thyrocare shares crack 8% as promoter Docon Technologies sells 10% stake

Thyrocare Technologies shares fell after promoter Docon Technologies sold around 1.58 crore shares.
Thyrocare shares tumbled to an intraday low of Rs 594 apiece on Thursday. The stock later recovered some losses, trading around 4% lower at Rs 614 apiece in the afternoon.
Docon Technologies sold around 1.58 crore shares of Thyrocare in market trade, the company said in an exchange filing. This reduced its stake in the diagnostics company to 51.02% from 60.92. Following the aforesaid transaction, Docon continues to be a promoter and holding company of Thyrocare, the company clarified.
This comes less than a year after Docon Technologies sold 10% stake in the diagnostics chain for Rs 667 crore through an open market transaction, reducing its stake to 61% from 71.06%.
Thyrocare shareholding pattern
Docon Technologies owned nearly 9.7 crore shares, or 61% stake in the company, as on June 30, 2026, according to data on the company’s shareholding pattern on NSE. Another 20% stake was held by 13 mutual funds, including Nippon Life India, ICICI Prudential and others.
Nearly 69 lakh retail shareholders meanwhile held 8.6% stake in the company, as at the end of the April-June quarter of the ongoing financial year 2027.
Thyrocare share price
Thyrocare shares have gained around 3% in a week and 20% in a month, being up more than 37% in 2026 so far. The stock has overall gained 34% in one year.
In the longer term, Thyrocare shares have delivered stellar 221% returns over three years, and 38% over five years. The company currently has a market capitalisation of around Rs 9,797 crore.
Thyrocare Q1 earnings
Thyrocare reported a 24% year-on-year growth in consolidated revenue to Rs 240 crore for the first quarter of FY27. EBITDA grew 34% to Rs 77 crore, while profit after tax also increased 34% YoY to Rs 51 crore.
In the three month period, Thyrocare processed 55.2 million tests, up 28% YoY, making it the largest diagnostic test volume processor in India. Rahul Guha, MD & CEO, Thyrocare Technologies said, “Thyrocare reported a strong performance this quarter, driven by continued focus on operational efficiency, network expansion, and value-driven diagnostics.”
“During the period, we also strengthened our specialty portfolio with the addition of allergy testing and entry into genomics through the launch of NIPT, with a phased expansion of the test menu underway. Thyrocare continues to expansion of the test menu underway,” he added.
