These stocks plunged over 10% despite positive market mood

NEW DELHI: Even as Indian shares registered strong gains on Friday, shares of Rain Industries (down 17.17 per cent), Idea Cellular (11.65 per cent) and Mandhana Retail Ventures (10.56 per cent) plunged over 10 per cent on NSE.

Stocks such as Sanco Industries (9.89 per cent), Motor & General Finance (9.39 per cent), Parabolic Drugs (8.82 per cent), Cinevista (8.38 per cent), Sujana Universal Industries (8.33 per cent) and Neueon Towers (8.33 per cent) tanked up to 10 per cent.

The equity benchmark Sensex finished day's trading 290 points, or 0.82 per cent, up at 35,536. As many as 23 stocks settled with gains, while 8 incurred losses in the index.


The Nifty50 index closed 90 points, or 0.84 per cent, up at 10,807, with 38 stocks in the green and 12 in the red.

For the week, both Sensex and Nifty rose by 1.78 per cent.

Asian Paints, HPCL, Vedanta and BPCL remained the top gainers in the Nifty index.

Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, Titan, Tata Motors and Hero MotoCorp remained the top losers in the Nifty pack.

As many as 17 stocks hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE, compared with 154 stocks that hit fresh 52-week lows.
