Despite Bharti Airtel posting tepid earnings growth for March quarter, the stock jumped nearly 4 per cent on Wednesday, which pushed the sectoral index BSE Telecom by 1.96 per cent.

Among the sectoral indices, BSE Telecom index was trading higher by 1.96 per cent in early trade, followed by FMCG (up 1.61 per cent), Healthcare (up 1.1 per cent), Auto (up 1.03 per cent) and Capital Goods (up 0.91 per cent).

On the other hand, BSE Realty and IT were trading lower by 0.57 per cent and 0.44 per cent, respectively.

The BSE Sensex was up by 226.59 points at 30159.84 in the morning trade on Wednesday around 11.50 am (IST).

Shares of Indo Thai Sec, Chambal Fert, Mirza Intnl, Escorts, Kajaria Ceramic, Rash Chem Fert, GMDC, SIL Investments, HB Stockholding, Crompton Greave, C&C Construct, Websol Energy, Indiabulls Ventures, The Western India Plywood Ltd., Euro Ceramics, Somany Ceramics, Motilal Oswal, Premier Exp, Southern Petro, ABB India hit their fresh 52-week highs in Wednesday 's trade, while Shekhawati Poly, Green Fire Agri, Hindustan Dorr, Moser Baer, Rollatainers Ltd, SRS Ltd, Rasoya Proteins, Urja Global, Kaushalya Infra, FCS Software touched their fresh 52-week lows.
