Tech Mahindra up 5% on Satyam bid speculation

Tech Mahindra shares were among the best performers in the IT sector on Monday, rising over 5% to Rs 288 on persistent speculation that the company may be interested in a stake in controversy-mired Satyam Computer. Tech Mahindra shares have risen 18% over the last one week.

"It is pure speculation, we have not been approached," a top Tech Mahindra official told ET. To a question by ET whether they would be interested if approached, the official replied,"Yes, definitely so. But that is a hypothetical question."
