TCS share up 0.76% on BSNL deal
Tata Consultancy Services has bagged Rs 574 crore multi-year deal from telecom operator BSNL for providing services that will transform latter's existing processes into convergent billing system.
"The engagement with BSNL is testimony to TCS ability to help customers experience certainty by leveraging our superior capabilities in systems integration, TCS CEO and MD said S Ramadorai said.
TCS would lead the overall engagement along with a large team of hardware, software and application partners, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The multi-year deal involves setting up of complex data networks across the vast BSNL circle in north and west India.
It also includes deployment of operational support systems (OSS) and business support systems (BSS) components which comprising customer relationship management, billing, mediation, directory enquiry among others.
The task involves managing the development, deployment and operations of services.
Shares of TCS were trading at Rs 1039.60, up 0.76 per cent on BSE in afternoon trade.
