Tata Motors shares fall 2% as October sales remain flat YoY

The company reported total sales of 82,682 units in October 2024, nearly unchanged from the 82,954 units sold in October 2023.
The commercial vehicle (CV) sales were reported at 34,259 units while the passenger vehicle (PV) sales of 48,423 units were reported by the company, both showing no year-on-year growth.
While the domestic sales performance remained steady, the commercial vehicles showed mixed results, with HCV trucks down by 2% and passenger carriers up 13%.
The ILMCV segment grew 9%, but SCV cargo and pickup saw a decline of 3%, and CV IB fell by 15%. Total domestic MH&ICV sales, including trucks and buses, rose to 15,574 units, compared to 15,211 units last year.
In October 2024, Tata Motors' total passenger vehicle (PV) sales, including electric vehicles (EVs), remained flat year-on-year at 48,423 units.
This is compared to 48,637 units in October 2023.

The domestic PV sales, also including EVs, stood at 48,131 units, unchanged from last year, while PV international business (IB) sales declined by 3% to 292 units. EV sales, combining both IB and domestic, saw a 2% dip to 5,355 units.
Over the past year, the stock recorded a gain of 27.28% while year-to-date (YTD), it rose by 4.31%. However, short-term performance showed declines of 11.41% over one month and 24.83% in the last 3 months.
