Market rises; Tata Metaliks, Bharat Rasayan hit fresh 52-week high

NEW DELHI: The domestic equity market was trading with gains in afternoon trade on Thursday.

Shares of IFGL Refract, Navneet Education, Subros, Rane Holdings, JBF Industries, Ucal Fuel Systems, Tata Metaliks, Asahi Songwon, ABM International Ltd. and Bharat Rasayan hit their fresh 52-week high on NSE.

On the other hand, stocks such as VKS Projects, PTL Enterprises, Shyam Telecom, Syncom Health, Majesco Ltd., Prakash Constro, FCS Software, Rasoya Proteins, Ruchi Infra, ANG Industries touched their fresh 52-week low.

The NSE Nifty index was up 13.80 points at 9,157.60 in the afternoon trade following mixed global cues.

Overall, 27 shares were trading in the green in the Nifty50 index, while 24 were in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, Adani Ports SEZ, Aurobindo Pharma, Zee Ent., SBI, IndusInd Bank, Kotak Bank, TCS, Hero MotoCorp, Sun Pharma, and RIL were among the top gainers, while Axis Bank, BHEL, Idea Cellular, ITC, Coal India Ltd, Hindalco Industries, PowerGrid, Tata Steel, Bosch and Wipro were trading in the red.

The BSE Sensex was up 59.07 points at 29,590.50 in the afternoon trade.

Traders were seen piling up positions in gems and jewellery, leather, beverages non-alcoholic, equipments, hospitality, food processing, shipping, petrochemicals, infrastructure, retail sectors, while selling were visible in beverages non-alcoholic, aquaculture, electronics, packaging, iron and steel, glass, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, and engineering sectors.
