NEW DELHI: Suzlon Energy Ltd will seek shareholderss' approval to raise up to Rs 2,000 crore through issuance of securities.

The board of directors of the company, at a meeting held today, approved "issue of securities to the extent of Rs 2,000 crore." the company said in a filing to BSE.

However, it is subject to the approval of shareholders in the Annual General Meeting of the company scheduled for September 30, the company said.

The board of directors also approved the appointment of Vinod R Tanti as the Wholetime Director and Chief Operating Officer of the company with effect from October 1, 2016.
