Sun Pharma gets lukewarm response
Sun Pharmaceuticals inclusion into the Sensex met with a mixed response on Monday. The script rose 1.84% to Rs 1121 at 11.45am. At end of Friday's trade Sun Pharma was trading at Rs 1100.80.
The pharma company has replaced Satyam Computers after the sdoftware company admitted to falsification of accounts. This is the first time that Sun is part of the Sensex. It is already a part of the Nifty since Jan, 2002.
Sun has been in the news of late for its consistent growth as well as its litigation over Taro. Sun and Taro's board members are fighting it out in the Israeli Supreme Court over Sun's efforts to acquire majority control over Taro. The case has gone back to the court for a judgement after talks between Taro and Sun failed to reach a compromise.
