ABB shares jumped 3.5% to Rs 590 after the company said the group secured an order worth more than Rs 4,000 crore from Power Grid Corporation to deliver an ultra high-voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission system. The link will supply hydropower from the mountainous Northeast to the populous region of Agra, 1,700 kilometres away.

Hind Unilever

HUL, which touched a 52-week high on Friday, has been among the best performers so far in 2011. The company may report robust third quarter numbers if the 36% jump in the advance tax payment is any indication. But, analysts feel the stock is expensively valued at current levels. The stock rose around 1% to Rs 412 on Friday.

JBF Industries

JBF shares jumped 6.6% to Rs 97 after the company said its arm has signed an initial pact with the industry and commerce ministry of Bahrain to manufacture polyester film. Reports said the polyester film company is looking to invest $200 million in a plant in Bahrain with a production capacity of 90,000 tonne in the first phase.

Adhunik Metaliks

Adhunik Metal rose 9% to Rs 40 after the company said its whollyowned subsidiary, Orissa Manganese & Minerals, had entered into a joint venture with BC Dagara for iron mining.
