Stock market update: Sugar stocks slump; Indian Sucrose dips 5%

Parvati and Rana Sugars were among the only gainers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 82.75 points down at 11,963.05, while the 30share BSE Sensex was down 258.01 points at 40,797.68.
NEW DELHI: Most of the sugar companies were trading with losses in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of Indian Sucrose (down 4.92 per cent), Avadh Sugar (down 3.28 per cent), Dhampur Sugar Mills (down 3.23 per cent), Uttam Sugar Mills (down 3.07 per cent) and Vishwaraj Sugar Industries (down 2.82 per cent) were among the top losers.

Dwarikesh Sugar Industries (down 2.63 per cent), DCM Shriram Industries (down 2.44 per cent) and Triveni Engineering & Industries (down 2.42 per cent) too were in the red.


While Parvati (up 4.88 per cent) and Rana Sugars (up 2.16 per cent) were among the only gainers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 82.75 points down at 11,963.05, while the 30share BSE Sensex was down 258.01 points at 40,797.68 at around 09:36 am.

IndusInd Bank (down 2.59 per cent), Tata Steel (down 1.8 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (down 1.59 per cent), NTPC (down 1.41 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki (down 1.33 per cent) were trading in the red.
