Stock market update: Sugar stocks mixed; Piccadily Agro plummets 9%

NEW DELHI: Most of the sugar stocks were trading on a mixed note in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Piccadily Agro Industries (up 8.96 per cent), Bannari Amman Sugars (up 5.16 per cent), SBEC Sugar (up 4.84 per cent), Parvati (up 4.52 per cent) and Indian Sucrose (up 4.46 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Kesar Enterprise (down 8.32 per cent), Magadh Sugar (down 2.51 per cent), KM Sugar Mills (down 1.85 per cent), Dalmia Bharat Sugar (down 1.27 per cent) and Avadh Sugar were among the top losers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 54.40 points down at 12,307.9, while the 30share BSE Sensex was down 157.28 points at 41,795.35 at around 09:42 am.

Titan Company (up 1.3 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 0.5 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 0.35 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 0.34 per cent) and Nestle India (up 0.3 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, IndusInd Bank (down 3.95 per cent), Tata Steel (down 1.43 per cent), State Bank of India (down 1.33 per cent), UltraTech Cement (down 1.19 per cent) and Axis Bank (down 0.84 per cent) were trading in the red.
