Stock market update: Sugar stocks fall; Piccadily Agro sheds 6%

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading on a negative note in Monday's afternoon session.

Shares of Dharani Sugars & Chemicals (down 6.16 per cent), Piccadily Agro Industries (down 5.56 per cent), Riga Sugar Company (down 4.98 per cent), Thiru Arooran Sugars (down 4.96 per cent) and Dhampure Specialty Sugars (down 4.76 per cent) were among the top losers.

While Kesar Enterprise (up 1.54 per cent), Parvati Sweetners (up 1.11 per cent), Uttam Sugar Mills (up 0.82 per cent), Rana Sugars (up 0.43 per cent) and Sakthi Sugars (up 0.42 per cent) were among the top gainers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 140.45 points up at 15303.75, while the 30share BSE Sensex was up 559.19 points at 52103.49 at around 02:44PM.
