Stock market update: Sugar stocks advance; Rana Sugars leaps 5%

NEW DELHI: Shares of sugar producers were trading with gains in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of Rana Sugars (up 4.65 per cent), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals (up 4.39 per cent), Magadh Sugar (up 3.58 per cent), Dhampur Sugar Mills (up 1.07 per cent) and Balrampur Chini Mills (up 0.87 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Kothari Sugars & Chemicals (down 1.97 per cent), KCP Sugar & Industries (down 1.66 per cent) and KM Sugar Mills (down 0.82 per cent) were among the top losers.


The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 16.85 points up at 11,358.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 72.97 points at 38,287.44 at around 09:51 am.

Indian Oil Corporation (up 2.18 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 1.30 per cent), Asian Paints (up 1.22 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 1.13 per cent) and HCL Technologies (up 1.04 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Indiabulls Housing Finance (down 6.77 per cent), JSW Steel (down 2.64 per cent), Tata Motors (down 2.42 per cent), Infosys (down 1.84 per cent) and Vedanta (down 1.39 per cent) were trading in the red.
