Stock market update: SmallCap stocks sheds; GMM Pfaudler dips 10%

NEW DELHI: SmallCap stocks were trading lower at 02:19PM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of GMM Pfaudler (down 10.0 per cent), Jubilant Life Sciences (down 7.24 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals (down 6.6 per cent), Mayur Uniquoters (down 5.29 per cent) and Central Bank of India (down 5.23 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Sterling And Wilson Solar (up 19.99 per cent), Geojit Financial Serv (up 9.83 per cent), Huhtamaki PPL Ltd (up 8.84 per cent), IG Petrochemicals (up 8.77 per cent) and Thomas Cook (India) (up 6.84 per cent) were among the top gainers.


The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.88 per cent down at 14380.9 around 02:19PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 95.20 points at 11058.45, while the BSE Sensex was down 303.77 points at 37430.31.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Alok Industries, IDFC First Bank Ltd. and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Route Mobile Ltd., Firstsource Sol, Hexaware, MphasiS and Infosys hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mauria Udyog Ltd., 7NR Retail Ltd., Darjeeling Ropeway Company Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Mehai Technology Ltd., Saffron Industries Ltd., Mukat Pipes Ltd., Colorchips New Media Ltd. and Future Lifestyle Fashions Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
