Stock market update: SmallCap stocks rise; Wockhardt skyrockets 20%

NEW DELHI: SmallCap stocks were trading higher at 01:15PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of J&K Bank (up 20.0 per cent), Wockhardt (up 19.99 per cent), Inox wind (up 15.78 per cent), Igarashi Motors India (up 14.06 per cent) and Graphite India (up 11.17 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Lakshmi Vilas Bank (down 9.55 per cent), Himadri Speciality Chem (down 6.0 per cent), Vikas WSP (down 5.39 per cent), Lemon Tree (down 4.99 per cent) and Tejas Network (down 4.99 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.61 per cent up at 16156.31 around 01:15PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 44.65 points at 12816.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 151.16 points at 43751.12.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Spicejet, SBI and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Gland Pharma Ltd., Affle (India) Ltd., Tanla Solutions, Adani Gas Ltd. and Titan Company hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Terrascope Ventures Ltd., Pazel International Ltd., Neil Industries Ltd., Colorchips New Media Ltd., Madhusudan Securities Ltd., S & S Power Switchgear Ltd., Jump Networks Ltd., Suncare Traders Ltd., K&R Rail Engineering Ltd. and Square Four Projects India Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
