Stock market update: SmallCap stocks rise; Strides Pharma surges 10%

The BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.35 per cent up at 14533.95.

Out of the 717 stocks in the index, 341 advanced while 364 declined and 10 remained unchanged while 2 stocks didn't trade.

NEW DELHI: SmallCap stocks were trading on a positive note at 01:56PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of M M Forgings (up 13.74 per cent), Strides Pharma Science (up 10.34 per cent), Technocraft Industries (India) (up 10.18 per cent), Coforge (up 8.88 per cent) and PPAP Automotive Ltd (up 8.85 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.35 per cent up at 14533.95 around 01:56PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 21.70 points at 11427.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 106.73 points at 38733.59.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of Max Healthcare Institute Ltd., Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Max Healthcare Institute Ltd., Strides Shasun , NIIT Tech, Hatsun Agro and Wipro hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while 7NR Retail Ltd., Darjeeling Ropeway Company Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Jinaams Dress Ltd., Darshan Orna Ltd., Saffron Industries Ltd., Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company Ltd., Mukta Agriculture Ltd. and Shivansh Finserve Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
