Stock market update: SmallCap stocks gain; Apcotex Ind skyrockets 18%

NEW DELHI: SmallCap stocks were trading on a positive note at 01:20PM (IST) on Thursday.
Shares of Apcotex Industries (up 17.73 per cent), IG Petrochemicals (up 13.94 per cent), TCNS Brands (up 10.98 per cent), Everest Kanto Cylinder (up 9.63 per cent) and Excel Industries (up 9.4 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Vikas Ecotech (down 5.0 per cent), Salasar (down 4.99 per cent), GTL Infrastructure (down 4.88 per cent), Ballarpur Industries (down 4.72 per cent) and Opto Circuits(India) (down 3.8 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.71 per cent up at 14419.52 around 01:20PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 67.60 points at 11340.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 290.96 points at 38323.83.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Zee Ent., BHEL and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of ABB Power Products, Essel Propack, JSPL, Torrent Power and Atul Ltd hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Panth Infinity Ltd., Svaraj Trading & Agencies Ltd., Darshan Orna Ltd., Unishire Urban Infra Ltd., Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company Ltd., Modulex Construction Technologies Ltd., N2N Technologies Ltd., Ajwa Fun World & Resorts Ltd., Omansh Enterprises Ltd. and Sylph Technologies Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
