Stock market update: Sensex, Nifty pare gains, but these stocks jump over 6%

NEW DELHI: Shares of ICICI Prudential Nifty 100 ETF (up 10.83 per cent), Lakshmi Energy and Foods (up 7.52 per cent), SMS Pharma (up 6.83 per cent) and Lakshmi Precision Screws (up 6.09 per cent) jumped over 6 per cent on NSE during the morning trade on Thursday, while equity markets were trading flat.

Stocks such as Eros Media (up 5.59 per cent), Hindusthan National Glass & Industries (up 5.57 per cent) and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) (up 5.15 per cent) surged over 5 per cent.

Market registered a positive opening today on fresh buying in IT, teck, capital goods and healthcare counters amid mixed overseas cues.


However, losses in oil, PSU bank, metal and auto stocks weighed on the key indices.

The NSE Nifty index was trading flat at 10,429, while the BSE Sensex was up 50 points at 34,395 around 10 am.

In the Nifty index, 22 stocks were trading with gains, while 28 were suffering losses.

Infosys, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel and Tata Consultancy Services were the top gainers in the Nifty index.

Tata Motors, Grasim and HPCL were the top losers among Nifty stocks.
