Stock market update: Power stocks up; KEC International jumps 6%

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading on a positive note at 12:33PM on Tuesday.

Shares of KEC International (up 5.64 per cent), ABB India Ltd (up 1.87 per cent), Adani Power (up 1.46 per cent), CESC (up 1.4 per cent) and Siemens (up 1.39 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Adani Green (down 2.66 per cent), Adani Transmissions (down 1.73 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (down 0.97 per cent), Thermax (down 0.59 per cent) and NHPC (down 0.24 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE Power index was trading 0.25 per cent up at 1570.91 around 12:33PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 49.40 points at 11319.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 204.58 points at 38386.66.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, ITC and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Vaibhav Global, Garware Technical Fibres, Rossari Biotech Ltd., JSPL and GMM Pfaudler hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade.
