Stock market update: Pharma stocks gain; Cadila Healthcare rises over 1%

NEW DELHI: Pharma stocks were trading in the green zone at 12:18PM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of Cadila Healthcare (up 1.34 per cent), Divis Laboratories (up 1.18 per cent), Biocon (up 0.96 per cent), Lupin (up 0.9 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories (up 0.86 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Cipla (down 0.54 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (down 0.48 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories (down 0.34 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was trading 0.32 per cent up at 11618.2 around 12:18PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 44.40 points at 11429.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 161.46 points at 38689.78.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Vodafone Idea, Zee Ent. and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of IRB Infra Dev, Atul Ltd, ITI Ltd, Birlasoft and KIOCL Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style Ltd., AB Infrabuild Ltd. and Industrial Investment Trust Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
