Stock market update: Nifty Realty top sectoral gainer; DLF, Unitech surge 4%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index was trading as the top gainer among the sectoral indices during afternoon trade on Tuesday.

The realty index was trading 2.04 per cent up at 275 around 01:55 pm.
Shares of DLF (up 4.43 per cent), Unitech (up 3.66 per cent), Oberoi Realty (up 2.91 per cent) and Indiabulls Real Estate (up 2.26 per cent) were the top gainers in the realty pack.


Shares of Godrej Properties (up 0.80 per cent), Housing Development & Infrastructure (HDIL) (up 0.75 per cent), Phoenix Mills (up 0.32 per cent) and Prestige Estates Projects (up 0.31 per cent) were also in the green.

However, Sobha (down 1.19 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises (down 1.16 per cent) were under pressure.

Market sentiment was positive amid firm global cues. Buying, led by bank, auto, metal and teck stocks were keeping the equity benchmarks up.

The NSE Nifty50 index was up 73 points at 10,926, while the BSE Sensex was up 237 points at 36,172.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.
Hindalco Industries, Tata Steel, GAIL (India), Reliance Industries and UPL were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.

Sun Pharma, HPCL, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Kotak Mahindra Bank and IndusInd Bank were among the top losers in the Nifty index.
