Stock market update: Nifty PSU Bank index dips nearly 5%; Bank of Maharashtra tanks over 7%

NEW DELHI: Nifty PSU Bank index was trading with losses at 02:47PM (IST) on Monday.

While Bank of Maharashtra (down 7.31 per cent), Bank of India (down 7.04 per cent), J & K Bank (down 6.71 per cent), Bank of Baroda (down 6.09 per cent) and Central Bank of India (down 5.54 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 4.89 per cent down at 1939.05 around 02:47PM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 310.15 points at 14307.7, while the BSE Sensex was down 1062.94 points at 47769.09.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 8 were trading in the green, while 42 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, YES Bank, Tata Motors and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Elgi Equipments, DCM Shriram , Glenmark Pharma, Linde India and Cipla hit their fresh 52week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style, Jump Networks, Shrenik, Deep Energy Resources, Radha Madhav Corporation, Global Education, GVK Power & Infrastructure, Asian Hotels (West), Spectrum Electrical Industries and Antarctica hit fresh 52week low in trade.
