Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index climbs over 2%; Cadila leaps over 6%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Pharma index was trading on a positive note at 02:21PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Cadila Healthcare (up 6.17 per cent), Dr Reddy's Laboratories (up 4.58 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (up 3.42 per cent), Lupin (up 3.1 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 1.97 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Biocon (down 0.82 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories (down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The Nifty Pharma index was trading 2.13 per cent up at 13538.65 around 02:21PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 8.50 points at 14367.95, while the BSE Sensex was down -5.46 points at 47943.96.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Supreme Petrochem, Macrotech Developers, Cadila Healthcare, JSPL and CAMS hit their fresh 52-week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style, Jump Networks, Radha Madhav Corporation, Global Education, Bharat Road Network, Asian Hotels (West), Sharda Motor Industries and Marine Electricals (India) hit fresh 52-week low in trade.
