Stock market update: Nifty Media index rises over 2%; Sun TV Network jumps 6%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Media index was trading with gains at 11:41AM (IST) on Monday.

Shares of Sun TV Network (up 6.07 per cent), Dish TV India (up 4.4 per cent), TV Today Network (up 3.78 per cent), Zee Entertainment (up 3.6 per cent) and Hathway Cable & Datacom (up 1.48 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While DB Corp (down 0.51 per cent), PVR (down 0.43 per cent), Network 18 Fincap (down 0.37 per cent) and Inox Leisure (down 0.27 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The Nifty Media index was trading 2.24 per cent up at 1431.25 around 11:41AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 21.45 points at 11199.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 22.41 points at 37899.75.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 were trading in the green, while 14 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, NTPC and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Aditya Birla Fashion (PP), KIOCL Ltd., Bajaj Elec., APL Apollo Tube and MindTree hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style Ltd. and Keerti Knowledge and Skills Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
