Stock market update: Nifty Media index jumps over 3%; Sun TV Network leaps 7%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Media index was trading higher at 11:52AM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of Sun TV Network (up 7.05 per cent), Inox Leisure (up 5.41 per cent), Zee Entertainment (up 3.23 per cent), TV18 Broadcast (up 3.0 per cent) and Network 18 Fincap (up 2.09 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Hathway Cable & Datacom (down 1.47 per cent) and Jagran Prakashan (down 0.6 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The Nifty Media index was trading 3.31 per cent up at 1601.85 around 11:52AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 70.50 points at 11337.9, while the BSE Sensex was down 286.37 points at 38328.42.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Zee Ent., Tata Power, Ashok Leyland and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of ABB Power Products, Essel Propack, Aditya Birla Fashion (PP), JSPL and Atul Ltd hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while CKP Leisure Ltd., SMVD Poly Pack Ltd. and CKP Products Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
