Stock market update: Nifty IT index jumps nearly 3%; HCL Tech climbs 4%

NEW DELHI: Nifty IT index was trading with losses at 12:42PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of HCL Technologies (up 3.69 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech (up 3.11 per cent), Coforge (up 3.07 per cent), Info Edge (India) (up 3.0 per cent) and Wipro (up 2.74 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Mindtree (down 0.19 per cent) was the sole loser in the index.


The Nifty IT index was trading 2.54 per cent up at 18638.55 around 12:42PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 73.75 points at 11428.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 296.27 points at 38713.5.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, YES Bank, SAIL and NTPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Amber Enterprises India Ltd., Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd., Astral Poly Tech, HCL Tech and Adani Green Energy Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Uniinfo Telecom Services Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
