Stock market update: Infra shares leap; NBCC zooms 3%

NEW DELHI: Shares of infrastructure firms were trading in the green in Friday's morning trade.

Shares of NBCC (India) (up 2.94 per cent), Vodafone Idea (up 2.75 per cent), NCC (up 2.71 per cent), Adani Power (up 2.26 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro (up 1.89 per cent) rose up to 3 per cent.

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (up 1.88 per cent), Engineers India (up 1.69 per cent) and Suzlon Energy (up 1.69 per cent) too were among the top gainers in the index.


While CG Power and Industrial Solutions (down 4.91 per cent), Reliance Power (down 1.67 per cent), NHPC (down 1.06 per cent) and NTPC (down 0.74 per cent) were among the top losers.

The Nifty Infrastructure index was trading 1.18 per cent up at 3,018.6 around 10:53 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 187.35 points at 10,892.15, while BSE Sensex was up 667.3 points at 36,760.77.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 46 were trading in the green, while 4 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Dish TV India, Zee Ent., Bank of Baroda, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, SBI and GMR Infra were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
