Stock market update: Nifty FMCG index falls 1%; ITC down 2%

The index was trading 1.12 per cent down at 30964.6.

Out of 15 stocks in the index, 3 were trading in the green while 12 were trading in the red.
NEW DELHI: Nifty FMCG index was trading with losses at 12:33PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of ITC (down 2.35 per cent), United Breweries (down 2.2 per cent), Godrej Consumer Products (down 2.07 per cent), Dabur India (down 1.36 per cent) and Colgate Palmolive (India) (down 1.18 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While P & G Hygiene (up 0.35 per cent), VBL (up 0.32 per cent) and Britannia Industries (up 0.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.


The Nifty FMCG index was trading 1.12 per cent down at 30964.6 around 12:33PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 136.20 points at 11391.25, while the BSE Sensex was down 478.74 points at 38512.2.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 8 were trading in the green, while 42 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, YES Bank, Bharti Infratel and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of AstraZeneca, Amber Enterprises India Ltd., Adani Gas Ltd., Timken India and Ruchi Soya Inds hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Vasa Retail & Overseas Ltd., Aaron Industries Ltd., Kuantum Papers Ltd. and Ambani Organics Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
