Stock market update: Nifty CPSE index advances; ONGC climbs over 2%

NEW DELHI: Nifty CPSE index was trading on a positive note at 02:14PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of NLC India (up 2.92 per cent), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (up 2.21 per cent), SJVN (up 1.31 per cent), Oil India (up 0.78 per cent) and NHPC (up 0.72 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While NTPC (down 0.37 per cent) was the sole loser in the index.


The Nifty CPSE index was trading 0.58 per cent up at 1499.7 around 02:14PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 119.70 points at 11366.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 391.2 points at 38441.98.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors and NTPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Birlasoft, KIOCL Ltd., IOL Chemicals, Amber Enterprises India Ltd. and SRF hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style Ltd. and Uniinfo Telecom Services Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
