Stock market update: Nifty Bank index jumps 3%; IndusInd Bank leaps 6%

The index was trading 3.13 per cent up at 28395.6.

All the 12 stocks in the index were trading with gains.

NEW DELHI: Nifty Bank stocks were trading on a positive note at 12:09PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of IndusInd Bank (up 6.12 per cent), RBL Bank (up 5.51 per cent), State Bank of India (up 4.67 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 3.74 per cent) and Federal Bank (up 3.68 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 3.13 per cent up at 28395.6 around 12:09PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 115.80 points at 12576.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 457.25 points at 43054.68.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of SBI, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of InterGlobe Aviation Ltd., Ashok Leyland, Tata Steel (PP), Pfizer and UltraTech Cem. hit their fresh 52-week high in today's trade, while SITI Networks Ltd., Vikas Proppant & Granite Ltd., Jump Networks Ltd., SKIL Infrastructure Ltd., WABCO India Ltd. and Laurus Labs Ltd. hit fresh 52-week low in trade.
