Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls over 2%; Federal Bank dives 6%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Bank index was trading with losses at 02:06PM (IST) on Thursday.

While Federal Bank (down 5.78 per cent), Punjab National Bank (down 4.43 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 4.33 per cent), IDFC Bank (down 4.22 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (down 3.85 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 2.45 per cent down at 20658.8 around 02:06PM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 238.25 points at 10893.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 831.99 points at 36836.43.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 4 were trading in the green, while 46 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Route Mobile Ltd., Apollo Hospital, Syngene International Ltd., Hathway Cable and Ruchi Soya Inds hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Raj Rayon Industries Ltd., Mittal Life Style Ltd., Future Lifestyle Fashions Ltd., Vikas Proppant & Granite Ltd., Sumit Woods Ltd., Libas Designs Ltd., Kuantum Papers Ltd., Adroit Infotech Ltd., Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd. and Mindpool Technologies Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
