Stock market update: Nifty Auto index gains nearly 2%; Eicher Motors climbs nearly 4%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Auto index was trading with gains at 11:14AM (IST) on Monday.

Shares of Eicher Motors (up 3.63 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 3.6 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (up 3.38 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 3.2 per cent) and TVS Motor Company (up 1.89 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While MRF (down 1.75 per cent), Balkrishna Industries (down 0.23 per cent) and Ashok Leyland (down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.83 per cent up at 7818.4 around 11:14AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 30.40 points at 11208.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 52.24 points at 37929.58.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, NTPC and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of KIOCL Ltd., Aditya Birla Fashion (PP), APL Apollo Tube, Bajaj Elec. and MindTree hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style Ltd. and Keerti Knowledge and Skills Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
