Stock market update: Nifty Auto index down 1%; Mahindra & Mahindra dips 5%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Auto index was trading with losses at 12:11PM (IST) on Monday.

Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra (down 4.19 per cent), Exide Industries (down 2.11 per cent), Balkrishna Industries (down 1.98 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 1.5 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (down 1.22 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Tata Motors (up 0.85 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 0.08 per cent) and TVS Motor Company (up 0.05 per cent) were among the top gainers.


The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.98 per cent down at 7918.5 around 12:11PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 15.65 points at 11318.2, while the BSE Sensex was down 40.03 points at 38317.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, Tata Motors (DVR) and Bharti Infratel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of WABCO India, Granules India, Supreme Inds., AstraZeneca and Tube Investments of India Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Blue Chip India Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
