Stock market update: Most IT stocks trade higher; HCL Tech up nearly 3%

Most of the IT stocks were trading higher on Thursday amid a flat rupee.
Shares of HCL Technologies (up 2.44 per cent), Wipro (up 2.27 per cent), Tata Elxsi (up 1.28 per cent) and Tech Mahindra (up 1.01 per cent) were major gainers on the index.
Oracle Financial Services Software (up 0.64 per cent), NIIT Technologies (up 0.61 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services (up 0.24 per cent) and Infosys (up 0.08 per cent) were other gainers.
Infibeam Avenues (down 0.63 per cent) and MindTree (down 0.12 per cent) were only two losers on the index.
The Nifty IT was trading 0.56 per cent up at 15385.45 around 12:38 pm.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 16.35 points at 11,343.55. BSE Sensex was down 81.43 points at 38,223.98.
Among the 50 stocks in Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SBI, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Ashok Leyland, Bank of Baroda, Zee Entertainment, RBL Bank and SAIL were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange.
