Stock market update: MidCap stocks mixed; Apollo Hospitals soars 7%

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.14 per cent up at 15565.32.

Out of the 97 stocks in the index, 40 advanced, 56 declined and 1 stock remained unchanged.
NEW DELHI: MidCap stocks were trading on a mixed note at 01:30PM (IST) on Wednesday.

Shares of Apollo Hospitals Enterprises (up 6.84 per cent), Balkrishna Industries (up 5.28 per cent), Adani Green (up 5.0 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 4.85 per cent) and Bajaj Holdings & Investment (up 4.48 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While P & G Hygiene (down 5.85 per cent), Indian Hotels Company (down 4.48 per cent), IDFC First Bank (down 4.08 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech (down 3.88 per cent) and Cholamandalam Investment & Finance (down 3.76 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.14 per cent up at 15565.32 around 01:30PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 48.10 points at 12583.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 276.75 points at 43000.9.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Alok Industries and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Balkrishna Ind., Kotak Bank, JSW Steel, UltraTech Cem. and Escorts hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while 7NR Retail Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Darjeeling Ropeway Company Ltd., Mehai Technology Ltd., Vikas Proppant & Granite Ltd., Pazel International Ltd., SITI Networks Ltd., Mukta Agriculture Ltd., Primuss Pipes & Tubes Ltd. and Goblin India Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
