Stock market update: MidCap stocks gain; Biocon jumps 6%

NEW DELHI: MidCap stocks were trading on a positive note at 01:34PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Biocon (up 6.07 per cent), Sun TV Network (up 4.08 per cent), Crisil (up 3.46 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank (up 3.32 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro Infotech (up 3.23 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Future Retail (down 9.98 per cent), Bank of India (down 4.79 per cent), Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail (down 4.33 per cent), KIOCL (down 4.23 per cent) and Edelweiss Financial Services (down 3.56 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.5 per cent up at 14734.72 around 01:34PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 138.15 points at 11525.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 501.57 points at 39129.86.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, SBI and IDFC First Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd., IndiaMART InterMESH Ltd. and Infibeam Avenues Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Darjeeling Ropeway Company Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Darshan Orna Ltd., Anupam Finserv Ltd., Vas Infrastructure Ltd., Saffron Industries Ltd., Megastar Foods Ltd., Suncare Traders Ltd. and B P Capital Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
