Stock market update: Metal stocks climb; SAIL jumps 4%

NEW DELHI: Metal stocks were trading with gains at 12:25PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of Steel Authority of India (up 4.19 per cent), Hindustan Zinc (up 1.77 per cent), Ratnamani Metals & Tubes (up 1.67 per cent), Coal India (up 1.62 per cent) and Tata Steel (up 1.12 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Jindal Steel & Power (down 3.11 per cent), Hindustan Copper (down 0.86 per cent), National Aluminium Company (down 0.77 per cent), APL Apollo Tubes (down 0.61 per cent) and MOIL (down 0.46 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.66 per cent up at 2555.75 around 12:25PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 91.60 points at 11403.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 313.18 points at 38533.57.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 8 were in the red.

Shares of BHEL, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Zee Ent. and NTPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of BASF India, Indiabulls Ventures (PP), Aarti Drugs, Affle (India) Ltd. and Alkyl Amines hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
